# Recovery 3001 0.4.0 Beta 1 Dev 10 R18

R18 expands the guided USB search from deleted entries to files that still
exist but are not visible to the user. The source remains read-only and
recovered output still requires a different destination.

## What changed

- Finds active FAT32 and exFAT files marked hidden, system, or both.
- Finds active files whose parent folder was deleted and therefore no longer
  appears through the normal directory path.
- Restores validated active FAT32 long filenames instead of exposing only the
  short alias.
- Excludes ordinary active visible files so the result list does not duplicate
  files the user can already access.
- Adds a plain-language `발견 이유` field to the result list, preview, HTML
  report, and JSON report.
- Preserves R17 scan-session selection restore when the image, candidate set,
  and legacy scan fingerprint still match.
- Explains that hidden and system files were not deleted, rather than claiming
  they were recovered from deletion.
- Prevents the 1024-pixel-wide header from overlapping the product name and
  protection status, and adds color hierarchy for likelihood and discovery
  reason.
- Adds a five-case, non-overwriting hidden-file audit for deterministic FAT32
  and exFAT fixtures.

## Verification

- FAT32 active hidden long-name file: exact recovery.
- exFAT active hidden and system file: exact recovery.
- FAT32 active file below a deleted parent: exact recovery.
- exFAT active file below a deleted parent: exact recovery.
- Default preview reason: plain language with no filesystem, cluster, byte,
  hash, internal candidate ID, or score exposure.
- Windows UI audit: four layout profiles and ten native screenshots.
- Source-device write commands in the focused fixture audit: zero.

## Limits

The deterministic fixtures do not close the remaining commercial gates.
Physical FAT32/exFAT USB deletion recovery, an actual Windows 10 target, five
observed users, and a trusted code-signing certificate still require external
evidence. R18 remains an unsigned development beta until those gates pass.
